Ben Angel is an Entrepreneur Network partner. He is no stranger to working long hours. His days sometimes start early and end late. That is why he used to rely on caffeine to keep him up so that he could work.
Unfortunately, caffeine had the opposite effect. Not only did he suffer fatigue, but drinking caffeine almost ruined his business. At first, Ben thought that he needed to drink more caffeine in order to increase his energy. However, it did not work. He needed to take multiple naps in order to get through the day. He also had problems sleeping at night.
Ben went to multiple doctors in order to find out what was wrong. He also tried to adopt healthier lifestyle habits. The doctors could not explain why Ben did not have any energy.
However, Ben discovered the culprit after he took a look at his diet. He discovered that he was allergic to caffeine. It took Ben three years to discover that he was allergic to caffeine. He also removed several foods from his diet before he made this shocking discovery.
Ben wants people to know that the same thing can happen to them. Even if you are not allergic to caffeine, there are still serious health risks that are associated with drinking too much of it. There have been many studies done to show that caffeine can increase the risk of high blood pressure, heart attack and insomnia.
It is important to remember that caffeine is a drug. Any drug can have an adverse effect on the body. Ben was experiencing anxiety even when he only drank one or two cups of coffee per day. At first, Ben did not know that the way he was feeling was caused by the caffeine. He thought it was his business at first, which almost cost him his business.
Ben was thinking about throwing in the towel. He is happy that he discovered the real culprit behind his anxiety. Ben stated that caffeine may not affect everyone else the way that it affected him. However, he believes that people should know what caffeine is doing to their bodies.
Ben encourages people to keep a diary for one week. He wants people to observe how they feel. It is common for people to blame insomnia, stress and anxiety on work. However, in many cases, the culprit is caffeine, which is what many business people use to get through the day.
