There are many things in this life that can hardly compare to the quality of great tasting food. It’s what we treat ourselves to after long weeks of work, it’s what we indulge into whenever we need something to pick us up. Without a doubt, food is probably one of the main resources we need that is ingrained in our day to day life. In contrast to that, the internet is also another day to day mechanism that has ingrained itself into our very existence. The internet is a place to come together, rejoice over things we like, and create communities over it. With all of this in mind, it’s no secret that Tasty, the cooking section of Buzzfeed, has taken off with enormous popularity.
For those of you who don’t know, Buzzfeed is a multi-million-dollar company that has pioneered their way to the top by create online content via YouTube. From politics to fashion, Buzzfeed has catered to their audience’s tastes for the past couple of years. It was no surprise that Tasty, the aforementioned cooking section of BuzzFeed, would be such a hit. However, there’s more to the recipe of success than meets the eye for the average viewer.
One of Tasty’s greatest attributes to the Buzzfeed community was the infectious amount of fun the hosts provided for the viewer, and most importantly, the recipes. By providing resources to the viewers that teaches them certain recipes, Tasty has taught an entire audience how to cook, and have fun while doing it. Not only has this been incredibly effective, but Tasty is beginning to expand past doing YouTube videos and providing direct content to their viewers that can be purchased.
This past week, Tasty released Tasty One Top, an app that reaches viewers directly and helps them with their cooking recipes. The app has been met with quite a bite of excitement from the fans. Last year, Tasty tested the water with a cookbook that was made available to the fans via online ordering. It was met with critical acclaim. This is an incredibly important movement that BuzzFeed has done here, and it’s something that many other social media companies are taking note of. Expanding outside the realm of simply creating content and providing an item in their customers’ hands. With the app recently launched and support strong from the Tasty community, the sky’s the limit for the BuzzFeed spin-off.
Tasty is such an incredibly important thing to look at in retrospect that many other social media companies should take note of. Expanding yourself, trying new things and having fun at the same time is such an incredible recipe for success. It’s only a matter of time to see what Tasty comes up with, and we’ll be here eagerly waiting!
